D and B Family Farm is located in South East Nebraska. We are located about 2 miles south of Wymore, NE or about 8 miles from the Kansas/Nebraska border. Our operation continues to strive for health and well-being of the animals we have. We care for the animals as if they were pets but also know that we wish to make this profitable as well. With 6 acres we know that proper planning will benefit us in the long run. Our farm continues to grow on a weekly basis. We strive to help the community of Wymore Nebraska as well.
Until recently we have centered our operation primarily on Boer Goats. Boer Goats are raised primarily for meat. The Boer Goats we raise are at least 3/4 blood. Along with Boer Goats we raise Pygmy, Dairy and Cross Bred goats. We keep on hand (but rotate) a billy for breeding purposes. We take great pride in the goats we breed and do what we can to meet the needs of our customers.
UPDATE:
6/26/2008: Decided we would start clearing out the back 2.5 acres of cedars and open it up to pasture for the animals.
7/2/2008: Vet came out and checked our horses. Shots were given to all equine and the colt, mule, and miniature donkey were gelded.
7/9/2008: Finished fencing and opened the goats with the horses. Almost all cedar trees are cut out.
8/3/2008: All cedar trees are removed. Next will be ground prep to seed this fall.
8/10/2008: One of our pygmy goats gave birth to triplets. We are currently waiting on another two to give birth.
